About UVM Catamount DEI Hub
This database serves as a comprehensive resource guide for the following groups:
Alumni and Community
Current Students (Undergraduate and Graduate)
Faculty, Staff, and Administrators
Parents and Families of Prospective Students
Post Baccalaureates and Post Doctorates
The Division of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion has partnered with the creators of The Academic Pipeline Project, Drs. Curtis D. Byrd and Rihana S. Mason, to create a database that provides awareness of institutional programs that support individuals from underrepresented, marginalized, and minoritized groups.
This guide illustrates initiatives and opportunities that prepare individuals and groups for the journey within higher education to careers in academe and limitless professions beyond. This database provides an in-depth link to resources regarding these pipeline programs using the newly created THRIVE Index.
The THRIVE Index highlights each program as it supports several levels of the pipeline (i.e. pre-collegiate (K-12), collegiate, graduate, post-doctoral, and/or faculty). Units and departments should complete the inventory for each one of your programs. There is the ability to upload a narrative about each program/policy/event/training at the end of the inventory if there are details that are not captured by the inventory questions.
Defining Diverse Groups
The database contains programs that will support diverse groups along their journey. We connect diversity to the presence of difference in social identities. These include characteristics related to race and ethnicity, sex, gender and gender identity or expression, age, sexual orientation, country of origin, language, disability, emotional health, socio-economic status, veteran status and additional affiliations based on cultural, political, religious or other identities.
